Livewire

The Livewire programme is linked to a national campaign to encourage more 5-19 year olds to become more active outside of school time.

An integral part of the Governments 'PE & Sport Strategy for Young People (PESSYP)', the campaign has a national target of 900,000 children and young people doing 2 hours of additional physical activity outside of school time by 2011.

Active St Albans has been tasked with co-ordinating the programme in the City & District of St Albans between April 2010-March 2011 to make sure fun, accessible activities are available. The year is split into 3 terms; Summer (Apr-July 2010), Autumn (Sept-Dec 2010) & Spring (Jan-March 2010).
